I’ve established that we create all of our psychological or emotional STATES with our thinking, and that one of the most powerful states that we can create for performance is the ALL IN state – which is infinitely committed.
Studies by both Forbes and Careerbuilder.com have indicated that 84% of Americans report disliking their jobs. That’s the vast majority of the workforce! Unhappy with where they work. Why? How can that happen?
Nothing brings you joy. Similarly, nothing makes you anxious. You CREATE every state you ever experience with the way you CHOOSE to think. When you think well, you feel great. When you think poorly, you feel bad. Simple as that.
A strong inner world can effortlessly create confidence, competence, enthusiasm, focus, determination, perseverance, patience, peace and all the psychological states that lead to masterful decision-making, skillful action and phenomenal results.
If I’m not actively conditioning my mind on a daily basis, then these and the other 500 million shitty thoughts will take up residence in my vulnerable mind and will govern me in a such a way that I experience life as troublesome and problematic. Dis-eased.
We have been conditioned to believe that distraction is a thing that happens TO US. Therein lies the problem.
Our ability to become impervious to this phenomenon that we refer to as “distraction” is entirely contingent upon owning the fact that we do it to ourselves. We don’t “get distracted.” We distract ourselves. And we do so by shifting our focus away from our mission. It’s that simple.
In my observation, there are two types of sport fishermen. The type that fish to catch fish, and the type who fish for possibility.
You are the authority of your life. Authority. You get to re-author all your stories. The one you learned about discomfort being uncool – not cool. Rewrite it.
In my coaching and speaking, I am always referring to the #1 mistake that people make in the pursuit of the lives of their dreams. That mistake is WAITING.
Mental Toughness or Emotional Mastery will permit me to choose to interpret reality in such a way that inspires you endlessly and activates all forms of intelligence – thereby maximizing the likelihood of creating your desires.
