How to Become a Thought Warrior

Several years ago, I was a contributor to an online Acadamy that was called Entheos. I recorded several classes, each of which is about a half hour long. I’ve decided to recycle these now as blog posts because the content is really good, and I wanted to share it with you.

I love the word “entheos” because interestingly that is the Greek root of the word “enthusiasm.” Entheos means the creator within, and when we activate the state of enthusiasm, we’re activating all forms of creative genius.

How to Become a Thought Warrior

Buddha said it best, “Your life unfolds according to the way that you think.” And doesn’t it seem odd that the vast majority of us will not have had any formal training on how to strengthen the way we think? In this class, I take the student through a VERY simple, VERY profound formula that when understood on the deepest of levels, life immediately gets easier. And I will also take the viewer through the applied practice that accompanies this formula. When this practice, or discipline, is integrated consistently into your days, it is impossible for your life to NOT shift instantly up into more joy and more success.

1. Create the State – Don’t Wait

Waiting is the #1 mistake we make in the pursuit of our dreams. We wait because we believe we should. We have been influenced to believe that some set of conditions or circumstances needs to be different in order for me to be ready or qualified or deserving of having, being, doing or getting what I want. And that’s all backwards.

2. Conditioning

Here’s one of my favorite mantras: I use history, but don’t permit history to use me. Well, in order for that to be true, then I must free myself from the influence of the past, i.e., my conditioning.

3. We Are Designed for Growth

The good news about the fact that we are the products of conditioning is that we get to recondition ourselves and that we are literally designed for growth.

4. The Freedom Formula

THINK > FEEL > DO > RESULTS
There it is. The mother lode of mental toughness. That’s the formula that will free your mind. If you reverse the direction of the arrows, then you’re a victim of circumstance. Don’t be that person.

5. The Discipline

What good is a theory if it isn’t accompanied by a practice? Here’s the discipline that, when integrated into your life, will have you spending much more time in high grade states and activating all forms of creative genius!

6. CATCH!

The first step is to heighten your awareness to your moods. Catch yourself when you’re “below the OLine” (we’ll explain that).

7. OWN!

Take full enthusiastic ownership of the fact that the low grade state you’re in at the moment is completely your call. You made it all by yourself.

8. REPLACE!

Upgrade your thinking to upgrade your state.

9. Mantras

Some of my favorite replacement thoughts are mantras. For example, “I can choose peace rather than this.” Or, “Ain’t bad – just is.”

10. Gratitude

Gratefulness is one of the most intelligent states to create. It has our brains release the neurotransmitters that have us not just FEEL amazing, but also BE amazing – at everything.
