In the context of Emotional Mastery, Surrender means to make the courageous and masterful decision to stop struggling against reality. The ability to surrender requires transcending the egoic temptation to force things in order to get what you want. That desperate forcefulness paradoxically minimizes the probability of getting what you want and ultimately leads to suffering.
Breathe more. Simple as that. We can never get too many reminders to deepen our breath.
Practice listening to your gut. Interestingly, our gut cells create the majority of the body’s neurotransmitter, serotonin. Serotonin plays a massive role in mood regulation. So, when people say, ‘Trust your gut” they are offering advice that is likely sager than they realize.
Slow down! Slow down your thinking. Slow your mind. Create space inside for the obvious to present itself. Slow the mind down to create space into which creative strokes of brilliance can occur. And slow the mind down enough for solutions to present themselves for you. And slow down the mind enough to be able to experience and benefit from all the synchronicity.
Practice relinquishing the need to control everything.
My soul and I reside in the realm of uncertainty and surrender to it.
Everything is unfolding exactly as it should.
The problem is the gift.
I can create from this.
I am free. I am safe. I am held by the universe.
