The Art of Trusting Timing

The Lesson:

Everything is unfolding exactly as it should, regardless of what our egos are telling us to the contrary. We have the ability to control the effort we put into having things unfold the way we think they should, or the way we want them to. And when the powers that be have a different opinion on how things are going to go down, we also have the ability to masterfully surrender into that and create from the unanticipated new circumstances.

The Practice:

The practice here is to catch yourself when you are complaining about a set of circumstances, especially when it involves what you consider to be “bad timing.” Listen to your language. Your language is always a dead giveaway to your thoughts. When you have the thought or make the comment, “No way is this happening right now! Not NOW!” it is a blatant heads-up – like an alarm going off – that you are struggling hard against timing in that moment. CACTH those moments and then replace your thinking with the following mantras, or any other thought that will have you remember that this is right timing and that you can create from it.

For 15 billion years, the universe has been unfolding with flawless choreography.

By virtue of this happening, it’s what needs to be happening, and I surrender to that.

Every set of circumstances can be created from, if viewed masterfully.

This isn’t what I was asking for, so how can I create from this?

Many years ago I took a trip to Cabo that turned into an unexpected journey of rapid, deep personal transformation.

This post is one of sixteen excerpts of a piece of writing that I did, that was inspired by this magical experience.

Each “chapter” contains a lesson that can be categorized as a lesson in Mental Toughness, personal development, or spiritual growth.

These chapters have been organized into three segments: the Lesson theory, a Practice, and relevant Mantras to help you in your own journey.
