Disciplined Thinking

If that’s true (and given the source, I’ll bet it is, then the following is also true: if your thoughts are out of control, your life is out of control. Fairly good argument for putting some effort into taking control of your thoughts.

You choose your thoughts. You choose your thought habits. Thoughts don’t just happen. No thought ever occurs to you. Nothing ever pops into your head. Nothing ever comes to mind. You create all your thoughts. All of them. Always. For most of us, however, our thought control aptitude level is currently quite low due to lack of exercise. This current thought control aptitude level is like a muscle that has atrophied as a result of a sedentary lifestyle. I call this weak mind. Weak mind is not a product of laziness. It’s a result of the fact that people aren’t taught to exercise their minds well. People aren’t taught to choose their thoughts. Most people don’t even know they have the option of choosing their thoughts. But now you do. And that knowledge comes with a great responsibility-to yourself-to your Dream.
